Megan McGowan, Principal of M²Co, is a well-respected real estate professional with 25 years of experience in the retail marketplace. She has strong contacts and working relationships with national, regional and local retailers across Canada. Having worked with private investors, REITs, pension funds, and insurance companies on a large variety of retail sites, she is attuned to the different needs of investors. Megan is known for her integrity and commitment, as well as for her ability to take the value creation process from conception through implementation to store opening.
Megan has actively led the successful lease-up of numerous re-developments of strip, community and regional shopping centres, focusing on increasing long-term asset value for such companies as Trilea/Bramalea, Marathon and Markborough Properties Inc. She has also benefited from working on the retail side of the equation early in her career at Minit International. Megan was Senior Vice President, Retail Leasing Services at O&Y Enterprise where she oversaw the national team which completed over 700 transactions in 2002. In addition to leading a team of 30 people, Megan negotiated key box and anchor deals, and participated in the lease-up of selected re-development projects.
Megan is bilingual (French/English), has a Bachelor of Arts from McMaster University, and holds memberships with ICSC and Toronto CREW (where she is on the board). She has acted as a speaker at the ICSC Law Conference, MMPI’s Real Leasing Conference, IDEX Neocon, and on various special panels for Toronto CREW.
